Storyteller, Writer & Presenter
Lucy is a storyteller, writer and presenter, passionate about bringing stories to life and promoting the enjoyment of reading to children. She has performed at literary festivals, museums and other live events across the UK in addition to writing and presenting content on camera.
Credits include presenting Pantone Colours at the Hay Literature Festival, Thought Literary Festival and Imagine Festival at the Southbank in association with Abrams & Chronicle. Recently Lucy has written and performed ‘The Unexpected Journey of Chocolate’ for the Roald Dahl Museum, exploring the gift of chocolate through history, and A Walk in a Fairy Tale Wood for the 2017 Cheltenham Literature Festival.
Other storytelling performances include writing and touring the Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland Learning through Stories exhibition for The Story Museum, Oxford; delighting audiences with a celebration of Babar’s 80th birthday and being the voice of a squirrel to support a Woodland Whispers charity campaign, directed by Avril Lethbridge.
Lucy’s work has developed into combining storytelling with factual presentation, recently filming an interview with the chair of Downton Abbey’s Cottage Hospital Roof Restoration campaign, highlighting the importance of the campaign to the local community.
Aside from live events and on camera work, Lucy visits schools devising and delivering story and character development workshops to help promote the enjoyment of reading. As a voice artist, Lucy’s experience spans narration and animation.
Lucy is represented for Storytelling by Authors Aloud, has a Gold Medal in the Speaking of Verse and Prose from LAMDA and is a full member of Equity for her acting work.
