Storyteller, Writer & Presenter
Lucy is a storyteller, writer and presenter, passionate about bringing stories to life and promoting the enjoyment of reading to children. Her work spans fictional and factual storytelling, presenting educational content in a storytelling format. She has performed at literary festivals, museums and other live events across the UK in addition to writing and presenting content on camera.
Credits include Imagine a Story at Kensington Palace; Pantone Colours at the Hay Literature Festival in association with Abrams & Chronicle and A Walk in a Fairy Tale Wood at the Cheltenham Literature Festival. Lucy has also written and presented The Unexpected Journey of Chocolate for the Roald Dahl Museum; a factual look at the gift of chocolate through history.
Other work includes writing and touring the Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland Learning through Stories exhibition for The Story Museum, Oxford; delighting audiences with a celebration of Babar’s 80th birthday and being the voice of a squirrel to support a Woodland Whispers charity campaign, directed by Avril Lethbridge.
Lucy’s work has developed into combining storytelling with factual presentation, recently filming an interview with the chair of Downton Abbey’s Cottage Hospital Roof Restoration campaign, highlighting the importance of the campaign to the local community.
Aside from live events and on camera work, Lucy visits schools devising and delivering story and character development workshops to help promote the enjoyment of reading. As a voice artist, Lucy’s experience spans narration and animation.
Lucy is represented for Storytelling by Authors Aloud, has a Gold Medal in the Speaking of Verse and Prose from LAMDA and is a full member of Equity for her acting work.
